Aquarius V1.2 Data
The Aquarius Level 2 V1.2 evaluation data set is now available at the PO.DAAC. V1.2 includes an empirical correction for the calibration drift in brightness temperatures based on surface reference salinity data.
These coefficients are computed for each orbit based on a running 7-day(103 orbit) window and are stored as global attributes in each orbit file. The v1.2 data also update the radio-frequency-interference flags for scatterometer and the wind speed product derived from the scatterometer data. These data should only be used for evaluation purposes.
The new data can be found at ftp://saltmarsh.jpl.nasa.gov/L2/SSS_2/V1.2 in year/day-of-year (YYYY/DDD) subdirectories. The previous version 1.1 data has been moved from ftp://saltmarsh.jpl.nasa.gov/L2/SSS_2 to
ftp://saltmarsh.jpl.nasa.gov/L2/SSS_2/V1.1 (that is, the data has been moved below the inserted V1.1 subdirectory).
