Dataset Gap Analysis

Attached is a draft of the PO.DAAC Dataset Gap Analysis.

The document is an excel document that has each of the "current" 6 ocean parameters (ie, SST, winds, gravity, ocean surface topography, salinity, and ocean circulation) as well as the new parameter "sea ice" and "ocean color". The way each parameter sheet is laid out is that first all the L2-4 datasets that PO.DAAC currently has is listed, and then below missing or significant datasets that might be useful to bring over/remote link to PO.DAAC are stated. These "new" datasets have information related to the time period, spatial res., temporal res., domain, protocols, etc. The colors are defined as follows:

Current datasets are in black and blue, wherein blue represents datasets that are up to date (i.e., present). New datasets are in green and new datasets that are not yet available but known of (wish list) are orange.
