Measurements in coastal/inland sea areas

Ocean observing satellites are designed to observe deep oceans. Coastal and inland sea areas are more difficult to get accurate measurements due to land contamination in the satellite's return signal. Unless the dataset is designed for coastal areas, which will be mentioned in the title or description, the errors will be large. Otherwise the user will need to read the science literature and find out how to process the data to remove land contamination effects.
