A collection called "Climate Data Records" (CDR) has recently been created as an aggregated list of multi-disciplinary Earth science remote sensing datasets which are intended for use in climate research, including climate model intercomparison and climate assessment. These datasets cover multiple Essential Climate Variable (ECV) parameters which include: wind speed, wind direction, sea surface temperature, sea level, and sea state. To view a complete list of ECVs, please visit: https://www.wmo.int/pages/prog/gcos/index.php?name=EssentialClimateVariables. A variety of NASA missions with which data has been included in this collection include: AQUA, Jason-1, OSTM/Jason-2, QuikSCAT, TERRA, TOPEX/POSEIDON, and TRMM. The following represents a subset of interagency and international missions that are represented in this collection: Coriolis, ENVISAT, ERS-1, ERS-2, MetOp-A, NOAA-16, NOAA-17, NOAA-18, NOAA-19, and Oceansat-2.
