Grodsky and Carton, May 2012, White paper on Aquarius salinity accuracy
This topic and posting are intended to initiate lively forum discussion on Aquarius salinity data. Grodsky and Carton's analyses illustrate several aspects of systematic (geographically correlated) errors that the Cal/Val working group has been aware of and working on for many months, but presented in a more oceanographic context. The analysis highlights a few key features of the present version V1.3 data, some of which I described in my recent newsletter.
I'm very grateful for their work, and it serves as an example of the feedback that the Aquarius project values from the OSST and broader community. Data users are invited to comment on this analysis, ask question, and post new topics for discussion.
