User Inquiry:
I’m conducting a study related to Sea Surface Salinity (SSS) for the Arabian Gulf (Persian Gulf), and therefore I wanted to ask if there is any SSS images from MODIS or any other satellite.

I found the following website from NASA for the SSS but the problem is that the images are black in the Arabian Gulf region (which means no data collected for particular area). ... 2015-01-01

It would be really great if you can advise me on how to get SSS images from any available satellite.

Please try using the SMAP SSS data, which has higher resolution than Aquarius. (SMAP SSS data begins April 1, 2015)

For visualization over the entire available data period or for interactive sub-setting of data you can use the following tool.

There will be data in Arabian Sea: ... om;view=xy

The Live Access Server (LAS) enables you to: visualize data with on-the-fly graphics; request custom subsets of variables in a choice of file formats; access background reference material about the data (metadata); compare (difference) variables from distributed locations. LAS is a highly configurable web server designed to provide flexible access to geo-referenced scientific data.
