Hi Team,
How are the static Dataset visualizations generated and rendered in a Dataset landing page?
An example would be the image below which appears at the Aquarius Official Release Level 2 Sea Surface Salinity landing page on the following page http://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/dataset/AQUARIUS_L2_SSS_V4

Are these images completely static?

This is the static thumbnail image for the dataset. It could be generated by IDL, Matlab, Python and many other visualization softwares.

Thanks for the reply. Are the image generation processes (in various languages) run when the dataset landing page is created? I assume this is some service which is invoked whenever a new dataset landing page is created?

The thumbnail is generated by Data Engineer of PODAAC before the official dataset release. DE may use his/her preferred software to create the image.
