REMINDER - PO.DAAC FTP RETIREMENT: Important Information for Users
Last year, we informed our users (https://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/announcemen ... at_PO.DAAC) that NASA was in the process of deprecating the use of the FTP protocol for data and information access, and that PO.DAAC was offering PO.DAAC Drive as a robust FTP alternative for browsing and retrieving data at PO.DAAC.
Effective 28 March 2019, PO.DAAC will be making changes to its Web Portal (https://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/) and Web Services (https://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/ws) to support the FTP transition. This includes removing FTP dataset and granule references from the Web Portal and Web Services. In addition, for users utilizing NASA Earthdata Search services to find granule references residing in the Common Metadata Repository (CMR) only HTTPS “endpoints” (URLs) will be included in the search response. FTP “endpoints” will no longer be available.
After 3 June 2019, FTP service will no longer be available at PO.DAAC. We recommend an earlier transition to maximize familiarity with PO.DAAC’s operational HTTPS data distribution services and minimize data disruption when FTP service is no longer...
