Dataset Search service searches PO.DAAC's dataset catalog, over Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 datasets, using the following parameters: datasetId, shortName, startTime, endTime, bbox, and others.

Parameters

Parameter Details
keyword Description: - keyword specifies search text to search for datasets.

Example: modis
startTime Description: start time in the format of YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ssZ. 'Z' is the time-offset, where 'Z' signifies UTC or an actual offset can be used.

Example: 2012-01-22T01:21:21Z
endTime Description: stop time in the format of YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ssZ. 'Z' is the time-offset, where 'Z' signifies UTC or an actual offset can be used.

Example: 2012-01-22T01:21:21Z
startIndex Description: start index of entries found for search.

Example: 1
itemsPerPage Description: number of results per page for opensearch result. If format is not specified, format is set to 7.

The value range is from 0 to 400
datasetId Description: dataset persistent ID.

Example: PODAAC-ASOP2-25X01
shortName Description: dataset shortname.

Example: MODIS_AQUA_L3_SST_THERMAL_8DAY_9KM_NIGHTTIME
instrument Description: dataset instrument

Example: MODIS
satellite Description: dataset satellite

Example: AQUA
fileFormat Description: dataset data format

Possible values: HDF, NetCDF
status Description: dataset status.

Possible values: OPEN, PREVIEW, SIMULATED, RETIRED
processLevel Description: dataset processing level.

Possible values: 1B, 2, 2P, 3, 4
pretty Description: "true" to enable pretty output for xml. If pretty is not specified, pretty is set to true.

Possible values: true, false
format Description: response format. If format is not specified, format is set to atom.

Possible values: atom, html
sortBy Description: determines ordering of response. If sortBy is not specified, sort order is by score (most relevant dataset first).

Possible values: timeAsc, timeDesc, popularityAsc, popularityDesc
bbox Description: bounding box for spatial search. format should look like "bbox=0.0,-45.0,180.0,40.0" which is in order of west, south, east, north. Longitude values needs to be in range of [-180.0,180.0].

Example: 0.0,-45.0,180.0,40.0
full Description: "true" to return response with complete PO.DAAC metadata per entry. If full is not specified, full is set to false.

Possible values: true, false

			MetOp-A ASCAT Level 2 25.0 km Ocean Surface Wind Vectors
		</title>

			This dataset contains operational near-real-time Level 2 ocean surface wind vector retrievals from the Advanced Scatterometer (ASCAT) on MetOp-A at 25 km sampling resolution (note: the effective resolution is 50 km). It is a product of the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) Ocean and Sea Ice Satellite Application Facility (OSI SAF) provided through the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI). The wind vector retrievals are currently processed using the CMOD.n geophysical model function using a Hamming filter to spatially average the Sigma-0 data in the ASCAT L1B data. Each file is provided in netCDF version 3 format, and contains one full orbit derived from 3-minute orbit granules. Latency is approximately 2 hours from the latest measurement. The beginning of the orbit is defined by the first wind vector cell measurement within the first 3-minute orbit granule that starts north of the Equator in the ascending node. ASCAT is a C-band dual fan beam radar scatterometer providing two independent swaths of backscatter retrievals in sun-synchronous polar orbit aboard the MetOp-A platform.
