The PO.DAAC is pleased to announce the public release of the GHRSST Level 4 Multiscale Ultrahigh Resolution (MUR) 0.25deg Global Foundation Sea Surface Temperature Analysis (v4.2) Dataset (MUR25).

This blended Level 4 Sea Surface Temperature (SST) dataset uses the same analysis method as found in the daily 1 km global MUR dataset (https://doi.org/10.5067/GHGMR-4FJ04), but at a new 0.25 degree spatial resolution. The global time series spans a period from 1 September 2002 to 30 September 2019. It is based upon nighttime Group for High Resolution Sea Surface Temperature (GHRSST) L2P skin and subskin SST observations from many passive microwave and infrared sensors such as AMSR-E, AMSR2, MODIS on Aqua and Terra, WindSat, AVHRR, and in situ SST observations. Please refer to the MUR mission page and Chin et al. 2017 publication cited below for more information. To learn more about the GHRSST Project, please refer to the GHRSST mission page.

The dataset is described and discoverable via the PO.DAAC dataset information pages.
