MEaSUREs Pre-SWOT Hydrology Version 2 Datasets Release

The PO.DAAC is pleased to announce the public release of the MEaSUREs Pre-SWOT Hydrology River Heights, Lake and Reservoir Heights, Area and Storage Version 2 datasets. More information regarding the data is available from PO.DAAC’s mission page. Several enhancements over the previous release are implemented, including daily river heights and improved quality for long term trend analysis.

Datasets comprising this release include river and lake/reservoir height time series, lake/reservoir storage time series and lake/reservoir gridded water surface area from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and Ohio State University (OSU). The heights and storage use measurements from ERS-1 & 2, TOPEX/Poseidon, Envisat, Jason-1, 2 & 3. The surface area is from MODIS on Aqua and Terra. These data are available every 10 days from October 1992 to November 2018, with the exception of the daily river height dataset.  These datasets cover inland water bodies around the globe, but each file is of a specific water feature. The data are in netCDF4 format following CF metadata conventions.

The MEaSUREs Pre-SWOT Hydrology Version 2 datasets are described and discoverable via the PO.DAAC data portal.
