The PO.DAAC is pleased to announce the public release of the JPL Tellus GRACE/GRACE-FO Level-3 Gridded AOD1B and GLDAS datasets.

This release includes three GRACE and GRACE-FO Level-3 monthly gridded ancillary datasets: 1.0-degree grid AOB1B, Mascon (0.5-degree) grid AOD1B, and 1.0-degree grid GLDAS terrestrial water storage (TWS). The Gridded AOD1B data sets contain the monthly mean AOD1B de-aliasing fields in geolocated gridded form, smoothed or spatially aggregated to be consistent with the GRACE and GRACE-FO Tellus Level-3 data products of the land/ocean mass anomalies and Mascon solutions. For more details on the AOD1B data contents and definitions please check the AOD1B Product Description Document (GRACE 327-750).

The GLDAS TWS represents the total land water storage anomalies aggregated from the Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) NOAH-v3.3 model. All three files are in netCDF format with monthly global coverage, covering the timespan from April 2002 to Jan 2020. As GRACE-FO data collection continues, these files will be updated on a regular basis.

The datasets are described and discoverable via the PO.DAAC dataset information pages. The dataset information pages also provide access to the technical documentation, the AOD1B and GLDAS documents, and guidance on how to cite the data.
