The PO.DAAC tool State of the Ocean (SOTO) (http://podaac-tools.jpl.nasa.gov/soto-2d/soto.html) was demonstrated to these students to show the local and regional oceanography of temperature, winds, ocean color, relationship to hurricanes and other features.
