Please be informed that the PO.DAAC has released the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) Level-4 Extended Reconstructed Sea Surface Temperature (ERSST)  version 4 and 5 datasets. The ERSST datasets are primarily derived from the International Comprehensive Ocean–Atmosphere Dataset (ICOADS).  The ERSST version 4 and 5 were upgraded from the ERSST version 3b based on ICOADS release 2.5 and 3.0 respectively.  In addition, many algorithm improvements and updates were also applied to each version progressively. For more detailed information about ERSST product, please visit the NCEI ERSST website. Both of the datasets contain a historical reconstruction of monthly global ocean surface temperatures and temperature anomalies over a 2-degree spatial grid since 1854 in a netCDF4 format.  Both dataset information pages can be found at https://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/dataset/REYNOLDS_NCDC_L4_MONTHLY_V4 and https://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/dataset/REYNOLDS_NCDC_L4_MONTHLY_V5.
