The second phase of NASA's Salinity Processes in the Upper Ocean Regional Study (SPURS2) commenced in August 2016 to understand a high rainfall region in the Eastern Tropical Pacific.
On 19 August 2016, the R/V Revelle began survey operations that will run through the middle of September 2016 at the site of the SPURS2 study region in a high rainfall region the Eastern Tropical Pacific.
The QuikSCAT Science Data Systems team has recently delivered an updated batch of approximately two more months of data for the Level 1C dataset, bringing the dataset time series up to 12 August 2016 (calendar day 255), as made available here: http://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/dataset/QSCAT_L1C_NONSPINNING_SIGMA0_WINDS_V1
The PO.DAAC is pleased to announce the public release of the “QuikSCAT Level 1C Averaged Sigma-0 and Winds from Non-spinning Antenna Version 1.0” (hereafter L1C) dataset, which contains geo-located and averaged Level 1B Sigma-0 measurements and wind retrievals from QuikSCAT throughout a majority of the non-spinning phase of the QuikSCAT mission. During this time period the instrument was maneuvered in a unique manner to acquire backscatter data from OceanSat-2 and RapidScat incidence angles to allow cross-calibration.
Please be informed that PO.DAAC public services may experienced intermittent downtime during theJPL Scheduled Network Maintenance window this Wednesday, June 15 2016.
PO.DAAC showcased visualization capabilities at the 2016 “A Ticket to Explore JPL”.
PO.DAAC showcased visualization capabilities at the 2016 “A Ticket to Explore JPL”. "A Ticket to Explore JPL" was a smashing success with approximately 20,000 visitors.
We are pleased to announce that reprocessing of all Jason-1 data, as version “E”, is now complete and available for download.
