PO.DAAC Dataset Migration to Earthdata Cloud in AWS - Phase 2 - Batch 5.2

2021-12-09

As detailed in the 12 July 2021 announcement, the PO.DAAC data archive is being migrated to the NASA Earthdata Cloud, hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS). In an effort to best support the users as they begin transitioning their workflows or data access points to a cloud-based process, PO.DAAC is making the existing datasets from its archive available from and within the Earthdata Cloud as soon as they are available. Information and tutorials about how to access these datasets can be found on the Cloud Data Migration Page.

The PO.DAAC is pleased to announce the public release of the (Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System) CYGNSS Version 1.0 (V1.0) ocean microplastic concentration dataset. The CYGNSS V1.0 ocean microplastic concentration data are intended for users with interest in microplastic collection or monitoring. Detection of plastics from remote sensing is an active area of research.

NASA and CEOS Team Up to Provide New Data User Communities with COVERAGE

2021-11-18

For less experienced users of Earth observation data, sifting through scores of ocean data from multiple agencies to find the right dataset for a particular application can be a daunting task. With so many datasets available, it can be hard for users to find and decide which products best meet their needs. And then there’s the process of accessing, visualizing, or analyzing data, all of which are more difficult than they ought to be given heterogeneous mechanisms of data discovery and access across different agency repositories. What’s a new data user to do?
