PO.DAAC Dataset Migration to Earthdata Cloud in AWS - Phase 3 - Batch 2

2022-04-27

As PO.DAAC continues to migrate its data archive to NASA’s Earthdata Cloud, hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are pleased to announce the addition of 16 new cloud datasets. In an effort to best support the users as they begin transitioning their workflows or data access points to a cloud-based process, PO.DAAC is making the existing datasets from its archive available from and within the Earthdata Cloud as soon as they are available.

PO.DAAC Phase 2 - Operational Switch from PO.DAAC Drive to Cloud Distribution

2022-04-26

As detailed in the 12 July 2021 announcement, PO.DAAC has been migrating datasets to the NASA Earthdata Cloud, hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS). In March 2022, PO.DAAC updated its cloud migration plan. Please refer to the PO.DAAC Cloud Data page for the latest updates on the migration schedule.

2022-03-24

The PO.DAAC is pleased to announce the public release of the Adaptive Sampling of Rain and Ocean Salinity from Autonomous Seagliders (Guam 2019-2020) dataset collected by a NASA funded salinity project (NNX17AK07G). The Seaglider is an autonomous profiler measuring salinity and temperature in the upper ocean.

PO.DAAC GitHub Repository

PO.DAAC created a GitHub for hosting all PO.DAAC code. Each record in the inventory was tagged with labels to indicate the language of the script and the functionality.

A standard Apache 2.0 license  was also added to the script. Each script was added to PO.DAAC’s GitHub and exposed to code.nasa.gov through a JSON file.
