The PO.DAAC is pleased to announce the release of the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) Simulated North American Continent Hydrology Datasets. This release provides simulated water surface elevation products that resemble the data to be derived from SWOT Ka-band Radar Interferometer (KaRIn) measurements.
EUMETSAT has announced that the Meteosat 9 will replace the Meteosat 8 on June 23rd, 2022. It will affect the GHRSST L3C OSISAF Indian Ocean SST dataset (DOI: https://doi.org/10.5067/GHSIO-3CO01). However, the data format and SST L3C process remain unchanged.
The PO.DAAC is pleased to announce the release of the datasets from the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) 2019-2020 Prelaunch Oceanography Field Campaign. The campaign was designed to test the performance of several in-situ instruments/platforms in meeting the SWOT Sea Surface Height (SSH) Calibration/Validation (CalVal) requirement, and conducted near the SWOT CalVal crossover location, about 300 kilometers west of Monterey, California, between September, 2019 and January, 2020.

As PO.DAAC continues to migrate its data archive to NASA’s Earthdata Cloud, hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are pleased to announce the addition of 4 new cloud datasets. In an effort to best support the users as they begin transitioning their workflows or data access points to a cloud-based process, PO.DAAC is making the existing datasets from its archive available from and within the Earthdata Cloud as soon as they are available.
NOAA STAR has announced that the NOAA GHRSST Level-2 and Level-3 VIIRS SST v2.61 datasets (DOI: 10.5067/GHV20-2PO61, 10.5067/GHVRS-2PO61, 10.5067/GHVRS-3UO61, and 10.5067/GHV20-3UO61) will be discontinued by the end of May 2022.
The PO.DAAC is pleased to announce the release of multiple datasets from Oceans Melting Greenland (OMG), a 6-year (2015-2021) NASA Earth Venture Suborbital-2 (EVS-2) mission that produced novel datasets and research to give insight into how marine glaciers react in the presence of warm, salty Atlantic ocean water.
As detailed in the April 26, 2022 announcement, PO.DAAC has completed the transition of the Phase 2 datasets. Starting today, May 2, 2022 at 23:00 UTC, PO.DAAC has removed the discoverability of local archive instances and related legacy data access links for the Phase 2 datasets listed here.
